Mercury Retrograde, Solar Storms, and Chaos - OH MY!
This past week or so has been a time of bizarre mishaps, unpredictable energy and emotions, and overall difficulty for many of my friends, clients, and myself included.
Usually, all of these occurrences would be chalked up to and blamed on Mercury being in retrograde. And that's what we all thought at first, as we concurred with one another that this was the strongest Mercury Retrograde that any of us have ever experienced before.
However, it is not Mercury's doing alone, as this doozy of an energetic upheaval can also be attributed to strong and immense solar flares and storms from the Sun.
What does it mean for Mercury to be in retrograde?
When Mercury goes retrograde, it doesn't actually move backward. It just appears to do so as it zooms past Earth three or four times a year due to its orbit around the Sun being shorter than Earth's orbit around the Sun. A powerful disruption is kicked up and thrown towards Earth as Mercury passes us by, and the repercussions of this is what we experience during Mercury Retrograde.
How does Mercury Retrograde affect me?
As a planet, Mercury rules all types of communication, formal contracts and agreements, computers, cell phones, transportation, shipping, and travel. So, when Mercury goes retrograde, all of these areas in our lives get thrown out of whack and we experience a lot of chaos as a result.
How to co-exist with Mercury Retrograde:
There's an entire list of things I could list of what to avoid during this period, and although I will list some, I want to provide you with some proactive tips first:
What is a Solar Storm?A solar storm is a disturbance in the Earth's outer magnetosphere and can be caused by a variety of things such as solar flares, coronal mass ejections, and sunspots. For example, a solar flare can cause large amounts of charged particles to enter our atmosphere, thus ensuing magnetic phenomenon to occur.
How do Solar Storms affect me?
Solar storms cause a temporary disturbance to Earth's magnetic field, and thus can impact our technologies, as well as ourselves since we, too, have our own magnetic field: our auras.
Negative Side Effects:
During these periods, large amounts of energy are able to penetrate Earth and be absorbed. Thus, we may notice that the people around us, including ourselves, seem to be extra sensitive, anxious, irritable, and overall intense. Solar storms are believed to impact our nervous system, causing us to feel extra edgy, cautious, and feisty.
Physically, we may experience increased exhaustion, headaches or head pressure, aches, intense hunger/thirst, dizziness, insomnia, or even nausea.
How to Co-Exist with Solar Storms:
Similar to the tips I provided on how to co-exist with Mercury Retrograde, the tips below will aide you in living your life in as much harmony as possible during the periods of solar storms:
